Care is the same everywhere in its essentials and differs in the details. Profiles are cleaned with water, a soft cloth or sponge and a mild cleaner, without wire wool, abrasives or strong solvents. Tracks and drainage holes are kept free of soil and leaves, gaskets are checked periodically for damage and loss of elasticity, and on pergolas the drainage paths and moving parts are inspected. Motors and automation are not interfered with without a technical check, and a mechanism that has begun to malfunction is not forced. Near the sea, all of this is needed more often.
Aluminium windows and doors
We clean the profiles with water, a soft cloth or sponge and a mild cleaner. We avoid wire wool, abrasive products, strong solvents and aggressive chemicals.
Tracks, drainage and gaskets
The tracks and the drainage holes have to stay clear of soil, leaves and other residue. The gaskets are checked periodically for wear, displacement or loss of elasticity.
Hardware and moving parts
Difficulty in opening or closing, noise, the sash touching the frame, or a change in the feel of the movement are all reasons for a check and an adjustment. We do not force a mechanism that has begun to malfunction.
Roller shutters and insect screens
The guides have to stay clean and free of obstructions. On motors, automation or mechanical parts, we avoid intervening without a technical check.
Pergolas and canopies
We check the drainage paths, the gutters and the moving sections. On systems with automation, the operating instructions of the equipment concerned are to be followed.
Coated metal constructions
Cleaning is done with mild means. Impacts or local damage that leave bare metal exposed should be looked at early, so as to limit the chance of corrosion starting.
A coastal environment
In areas with a heavier presence of salt, exposed surfaces need cleaning more often, with particular attention to joints, tracks and any point where moisture can remain.
