ALUMINIUM FRAMES

The right solution for each opening.

Explore the categories of aluminium frames and the available ALUMIL range. The choice is not made on appearance alone: use, dimensions, thermal insulation, security, glazing and the real needs of the project all count.

Sliding systems

Sliding and lift-and-slide systems for renovations, minimal applications and large openings.

Entrance doors

Thermally broken and non-insulated entrance systems, with an emphasis on security and architectural design.

Folding systems

Folding doors for large openings, in thermally broken and non-insulated versions.

Curtain walls

Facade systems and large glazed surfaces for contemporary buildings.

Frequently asked questions

What decides the scope of a replacement?

The system series, the type and dimensions of each opening, the make-up of the glazing, the mechanisms, the coating or anodising, and the way it is installed. Every project is measured and planned on its own. Our quotation breaks all of this down per opening, so that it can be compared with others. What a quotation should show.

Does the frame have to be replaced as well?

Not always. Some systems are fitted over the existing frame and keep the builder's work to a minimum; in other cases full removal is the only sound answer. It depends on the condition of the frame, the geometry, how much clear opening you want to keep and the weathertightness that has to be achieved — decided on site, with a measurement.

Hinged or sliding?

Neither is better in every case. Hinged units give better weathertightness and tilt options; sliding units use the space well and serve large openings without leaves swinging into the room. In detail.

Double or triple glazing?

More panes do not automatically mean a better solution. We look at thermal insulation, acoustics, security, solar control and compatibility with the system. In many applications in Attica a properly specified double glazed unit with Low-E and a warm edge spacer performs better than a poorly chosen triple. In detail.

What does Uw mean in a quotation?

Uw is the thermal transmittance of the complete window. Uf applies to the frame alone and Ug to the glazing alone. Two windows cannot be compared by the Uf of the series, or by the Ug of the glass alone. In detail.
