Aluminium frames

Replacing old aluminium frames.

Old systems replaced with thermally broken aluminium frames, in homes and commercial spaces. Every opening is measured and judged on its own.

When replacement is the subject

Usually it is not one cause but a series of signs: draughts and cold surfaces in winter, moisture or haze between the panes, stiff opening and closing, noise from the street, or old profiles with no thermal break. In other cases maintenance and adjustment are enough — that is decided before replacement is proposed.

What we check on site

  1. The existing frame

Material, condition, and whether it can stay. How much building work is needed follows from that.

  2. The geometry of the opening

Dimensions, deviations and the clear opening you want to keep — a new system has different profile widths.

  3. Sealing and drainage

Where water or air gets through today, how the water leaves, and what has to change so the problem is not carried into the new frame.

  4. Roller shutters, screens and shutters

What is already there, what stays and what is replaced along with the frames — day-to-day comfort is often decided here.

Does the frame have to go?

Not always. Some systems are fitted over the existing frame and keep the building work down; in other cases full removal is the only sound solution. It depends on the condition of the frame, the geometry, the clear opening and the sealing that has to be achieved — on site, with a measurement.

What the proposal covers

Per opening: system series and typology, glazing build-up, hardware, roller shutters or screens where needed, coating or anodising, and the way it is installed. That makes the quotation comparable with others — and shows exactly what changes in each room.

Energy programmes

Greek energy upgrade programmes set requirements for the frame itself — thermally broken profiles, energy glazing and documented performance. We supply the measurement, the technical proposal and the documentation the file needs. Eligibility, the percentage and the approval are the work of engineers.

What the programmes cover

What to have ready

Photographs of the openings from inside and outside, the main dimensions (width and height per opening) and the area of the project. With those we can answer with a concrete proposal instead of a general estimate.

What customers say

From a frame replacement.

Old frames replaced with energy-efficient ones. Excellent work with quality materials and attention to detail! Marios found a solution to a problem with fitting the insect screen, when others were telling us nothing could be done…! We recommend them without reservation!!

Frequently asked questions

Can it be done without wrecking plaster and tiles?

Often yes: some systems are fitted over the existing frame and keep the building work down. If the frame is worn or the geometry does not allow it, full removal is needed. It is assessed on site, with a measurement.

What happens to the roller shutters and screens?

They are looked at together with the frames. Sometimes they stay, sometimes they are replaced along with them — it depends on the state of the tracks, the boxes and the mechanisms.

Do I lose light or opening width?

The clear opening changes, because every series has different profile widths. That is why we measure it and state it before ordering, so there is no surprise at installation.

Is it covered by the Greek energy programmes?

The programmes set requirements for the frame itself, and we supply the measurement, the technical proposal and the documentation. Eligibility, the percentage and the approval are the work of engineers — the energy inspector and the technical adviser.
